The future of retail: Vend and PayPal in San Francisco

Although we sometimes wonder where our hoverboards are, the future really is all around us.

It’s something we hear from retailers all the time, how much they love the way that their Vend cloud point of sale frees up their time and helps them make better decisions thanks to the way it brings data together. Vend & Paypal together take that one step further. This combination allows businesses to be mobile and take payments anywhere you have data, and with PayPal check-ins there is a very cool digital wallet that works wonderfully, now.

To see the future in action we recently caught up with one of our great customers in San Francisco, T-We Tea. They run a beautifully clever set-up, bringing charming and modern innovation to the traditional field of tea making, and extending that same optimism and talent to how they do business.

Owner Christopher Coccagna has found that Vend has given him better control in three clear ways.

  1. By understanding his cost of goods sold he knew for the first time what was making him money and what targets he really needed to hit.
  2. The way that Vend sends sales data to his accounting software, Xero, saves him at least a day a month, a day he now spends enjoying life.
  3. Vend & PayPal together allow him to give his customers a better tailored sales experience, and this can be in-store or, mobile – anywhere he might be at a trade fair.

Christopher and T-We are a perfect example of the fact that there are a few simple things that you can do with Vend to learn a lot more about the state of your business and experience that feeling of freedom from the occasional worry that you aren’t quite doing everything right.

To go a bit deeper into these, we’re throwing a Retail Success Breakfast next Wednesday, where Christopher will be sharing a few retail tricks and we lay out the three metrics that every retailer should know. We’d love to see you there.
