Hey SMBs, need something to look forward to in the coming weeks? Check out the SBA’s National Business Week (NSBW), a series of events that recognizes and celebrates America’s entrepreneurs and small biz owners.
Why are we celebrating National Small Business Week?
Because you’re amazing, that’s why. Small businesses are called the backbone of the economy for a host of reasons. For one thing, you create jobs. Lots of them. Small businesses create two out of three new jobs in the US, and have generated 64% of net new jobs over the last 15 years.
Small businesses also keep local economies going and breathe life into neighborhoods and communities.
When and where will the events take place?
National Small Business Week will be from April 30 to May 6, 2017 and will take place in the following locations:
Washington, DC – May 1
Online Events – May 2
Indianapolis, IN – May 3
Dallas, TX – May 4
Fresno, CA – May 5
According to an announcement by the Small Business Administration, SBA Administrator Linda McMahon “will start the week in Washington, D.C., where she will recognize and award outstanding small business owners from around the country. She will then continue the week with small business events in New York City, Indianapolis, Dallas and finish up in Fresno, California. Additionally, recognition and educational events throughout SBA’s 10 Regions and 68 Districts will be held throughout the week.”
Vend <3 Small Businesses
We’re huge fans of small businesses here and in honor of NSBW, we thought we’d highlight some of Vend’s features that cater to your unique needs.
For instance, since Vend has flexible pricing packages and no long-term contracts, you’ll be able to scale easily without investing too much on big and expensive solutions. Vend’s portability is also a boon for small merchants and enables you to run your business smoothly even if you have limited space.
One of the biggest advantages small businesses have over giant corporations is that they are often more in touch with their customers. You can get to know patrons on a level that isn’t feasible for the goliaths in your industry simply because you have more direct contact with them.
Speaking of getting to know your customers, Vend also makes this easier through our customer relationship management features that show you your customers’ purchase histories, demographic information, location data, and more so you can further customize how you interact with them.
All these features (and more) make Vend an ideal partner for small businesses. That’s why if you’re looking for a point-of-sale, loyalty, and inventory tool for your small biz, we’d love for you to get to know us.
Cheers and happy National Small Business Week!
