As friends of Vend, many of you have no doubt seen and succumbed to the soothing timbres of one or several of our captivating YouTube tutorials. Those timbres, my friends, are Mel’s timbres.
The official Voice of Vend, Mel has been with the company since its inception. Well, since before its inception, really. As partner in work and wedlock with Vend’s founder, it is safe to say Vend would not be Vend without Mel.
Who are you?
Mel Rowsell- the friendly voice at the end of the webinars/video tutorials.
What do you do at Vend?
I train our resellers via webinar, showing them how cool our software is so they can come to like it as much as we do. I also create some training materials for the knowledge base (you have probably heard me in the video tutorials), plus pretty much any other odd job that needs doing that doesn’t require a degree in computer science.
What were you doing before Vend?
Raising two little girls – which I still do around my part time hours at Vend – and supporting Vaughan (Vend’s founder and my lovely husband) get this kick ass idea of his out of his head and into reality.
Why Vend?
Well how could I not when in our family we live and breath Vend, somedays we ALL wear Vend shirts (well not the cat….yet). I get to engage with lovely people all over the world through the webinars, and as the company has grown I have totally enjoyed hanging out with the awesome Vend team, plus occasionally winning the odd game of pool. That’s pretty awesome.
Tell us something interesting about yourself.
I love Italy – the language, the culture, the history. I’ve been learning Italian for ten years now and on a recent trip to Italy could pretty much get by with my language skills – if you disregard the little hiccups like “could I please have some dog for dinner” 🙂 (the words for dog and meat in Italian are very similar….doh)
If Vend was a flavour, what would it be?
Without a doubt it would be maple walnut. Because it’s a little bit different, sweet but very definitely nutty.
