Our newest member of support, Oli, is the most laconic individual to have graced our blog so far. He uses just enough words to say what he means. A trait you’re sure to appreciate when he is your support agent.
Aside from being our new support superstar, Oli doubles as occasional Vend video editor and will be duly exploited for future blog contributions. In his own time he makes short films, reads many many books and is a bit of a muso. We might just have to start a band.
1. Who are you?
Oliver Carle (mild-mannered CSA by day, masked vigilante by night).
2. What do you do at Vend?
I help our clients get the hang of Vend and try to work through any problems they encounter.
3. What were you doing before Vend?
Working at Whitcoulls/studying English and History at AU.
4. Why Vend?
I heard about you guys through my flatmate who is a Vend user. She runs a little vintage boutique called The Bread and Butter Letter which she and I live behind. Having some experience in retail I was pretty impressed with the POS when I saw her using it one day. She said that Fallon had come in to help them out with some stuff and had mentioned that you were hiring, so after checking out the video on the Jobs page I decided this was pretty much my ideal workplace and that I needed to drop in a CV.
5. Tell us something interesting about yourself.
My first word was “Cowabunga!” My Mother swears it’s true
6. If Vend was a rock star, who would it be?
Flying Lotus. He’s still pretty young and relatively new on the scene but love him or hate him you can’t deny he’s got talent. He collaborates with all sorts of people from different genres and styles but has some pretty awesome projects of his own going on as well. Smart, savvy, modern and flexible with just the right amount of humour mixed in.
