Hello and Meeeerry Xmas to you, I hope Santa has been stuffing the stockings with goods purchased from your retail store 🙂
Here are some feature updates for you to take you into the new year.
Product Variants/Matrix – There is no spoon. There’s a desert spoon, a soup spoon and a spork.
Products in Vend can now have an attribute matrix (not the movie) or as we call them variants. For example, if you are selling a T-shirt (or spoons) in various sizes and colors you can create the shirt once, then add just the additional sizes and colors.
Each variant has it’s own inventory, and you can report on individual variants. But when you need to edit the details of the product, all your variants get updated for you. Adding new product lines is much quicker.
E-receipts – Save the trees!
You can now email customers receipts straight from the sale. All you need to do is enable e-receipts in your register’s config and you will be prompted for a customer email address when you complete the sale. Save rolls of paper, and rescue a tree or two.
Tip: You can add promotional details to your receipt footers too, why not link back to an online deal on your website?
iPad printing – Okay, dont save the trees!
If you have an AirPrint printer, and an iPad with iOS version 4.2.1 (the latest), you can now print customer receipts from an iPad. When you complete a sale (make sure you have receipt printing turned on for your register) you will get an on screen dialog to select a printer to print to. Tadaaa, a printed receipt.
You don’t even need an AirPrint printer. If you have a receipt printer and a Mac you can print receipts too.
To find out how to set up your iPad for AirPrinting and how to print to your receipt printer, read our help article on AirPrinting.
Well that is it from us for the year, thanks for all the support from all our users. We now have Vend retailers in 10+ countries around the globe and growing everyday.
By the way, we have some big new shiny features for you after Xmas too, but only if you are very very good 😉
Warmest regards and happy holidays,
The Vend Team.
