Vend won both the Innovative Hi-Tech Service Product and the Hi-Tech Exporter of the Year (under $5M revenues)
The award judges, who included Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and Google’s director of engineering in New York Craig Nevill-Manning, had this to say:
“Vend’s objective of ‘moving every bricks and mortar retailer onto the cloud’ and its execution of a strategy to achieve this goal impressed us. With thousands of retailer customers in more than 100 countries, Vend is well on the way to being a real NZ IT success story and has plenty of growth left in it yet.”
We would like to offer special congratulations to our friends at Xero, who took the top honours on the night, winning Hi Tech Company of the Year, as well as Hi-Tech Exporter of the Year (over $5m revenues). We also wish to congratulate our fellow finalists, including Carnival Labs, 3i Innovation, KlickEx & Shapeshifter.
Every year the NZ Hi Tech Awards grow bigger, and feature more innovative and fast growing companies. If there was a recurring theme to the speeches by presenters and winners on the night, it was that the hi-tech industry is the future of New Zealand.
We couldn’t agree more, and we at Vend are incredibly proud to be a part of that future.
We were also quite chuffed to get to wear three piece suits twice in two weeks. But we don’t expect it to start a trend.
