The Cheese and Wine Company was founded three years ago, as a place where people can shop, taste, enjoy and purchase artisan, traditionally made cheeses and wines. As well as these delectable treats they also sell oils, vinegars, olives, crackers, chutneys, and handmade chocolates. Yeah, there’s no real confusion why we’re in love with them right? We had a quick chat with the big cheese, Steve Parker, to see how he uses Vend for retail success.
What brought you and Vend together?
Having used two previous EPOS (electronic point-of-sale) systems, I was keen to have a system that could run on Apple devices – we use Apple in all areas of our business – provide seamless integration with other key systems (e.g. accounting) and to be visually simple and attractive. Vend delivered on all aspects and we ran a short trial before switching to it fully. We run it on an iPad in the shop and on an iPad Mini when we do outside events.
How’ve you found using our loyalty system?
Since we implemented it, Vend Loyalty has been very effective and is liked by our staff and our customers alike. It is highly functional and simple to use and has driven increased sales. Most people don’t expect a small business to have such a sophisticated system!
Do you have any advice for new retailers?
Getting a top quality EPOS solution like Vend is vital to giving you the right management reporting and controls – it leaves you free to focus on the key business of selling stuff!
