What’s New in Vend – April

Tax by outlet

Probably one of our most anticipated features, tax by outlet lets Vend retailers set different tax rates for each of their store locations. Once set, it will automatically apply to all sales in that store, including special pricing managed through price books.

We think this is an important feature for our retailers, especially those who have stores in multiple cities or counties, with different tax rates in each. It’s also a must have for retailers whose businesses are succeeding and growing beyond where they first started, which is at the heart of Vend’s mission to help store owners achieve retail success.

QuickBooks Online Beta (US Only)

We’re always looking for ways to make our retailers’ lives easier, including reducing the amount of time they spend managing their books. This is why we’re excited to announce the Vend + QuickBooks Online beta, which makes accounting for your store super easy.

Through the integration, Vend connects directly to QuickBooks Online so you can automatically push end-of-day register closures to your QuickBooks Online account. This is currently a very limited beta available only to US customers, but we’ll be improving the integration with feedback from our retailers in the beta program.

Vend + Deputy App

Deputy is extraordinary time, attendance and staff rostering software that makes it easy to schedule staff, track their performance, assign tasks and fill a vacant shift. On its own, Deputy is software that can’t be beat, but now that Deputy integrates with Vend it’s a full-on game changer!

Deputy pulls historical sales data straight from Vend into their Scheduling snapshot and keeps it updated in real-time, giving you a clear indication on how your sales perform daily vs how you’re scheduling staff.

Vend U

Knowledge is power, and a store owner who’s knowledgeable about the latest retail trends, how to run their business well, and how to use Vend effectively is a force to be reckoned with. We want Vend retailers to be the best in the world, which is why we’re launching Vend U  –  a one stop shop for retail resources, tips and trends, and community events – all designed to give you the competitive edge.

We look at topics such as the latest shopping trends from around the world, tips for managing staff effectively, and the best apps for running your store efficiently.
