Andrew Harrison

Independent Chair and Non-Executive Director

Andrew joined the Board and was appointed Chair in September 2018. Andrew is an experienced company director and corporate adviser. He is currently the non-executive chairman of ASX-listed WiseTech Global Limited and Bapcor Limited, and a non-executive director of Moorebank Intermodal Company Ltd. Andrew has previously held executive roles and non-executive directorships with public and private companies, including as CFO of Seven Group Holdings, group finance director of Landis+Gyr, CFO and a director of Alesco Limited and a non-executive director of Estia Health Limited, IVE Group Limited and Xenith IP Limited. Earlier in his career, Andrew was a senior manager at Ernst & Young (Sydney and London) and Gresham Partners Limited, and an Associate at Chase Manhattan Bank (New York). Andrew holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and is a Chartered Accountant. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Vaughan Fergusson

FOUNDER / DIRECTOR

Vaughan, a veteran of several online startups, founded Vend in 2010 based on the idea of using technology to liberate retailers, save them 1,000s of hours, and empower them to deliver rich new engaging experiences in their stores. Along with multiple awards for Vend, Vaughan was named EY's Tech Entrepreneur of the Year in 2014. In 2015 he founded a charitable initiative OMGTech! with the aim to help kids into careers with future technology. He’s also Vice-chair of the NZ Hi-Tech Trust and is involved in the celebration of the New Zealand hi-tech industry through awards and education. Every year Vaughan does an impossible challenge, something to take him out of his comfort zone, like running 1,000km, learning to sing to get a paid gig in front of 100 people or cycling around the world in 80 days. This has become a core value at Vend, to do the impossible.

Barry Brott

NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Barry joined the Board in 2013. Barry brings a wide-range of investment experience as co-founding partner of Square Peg Capital - a prominent venture capital firm. Barry’s depth and breadth in understanding the growth needs of technology companies brings great value to supporting the growth ambitions of Vend. In addition to being a co-founding partner of Square Peg Capital, Barry is part of the investment team at Jagen, a Melbourne-based family office he joined in 2006. Barry has also held strategy and corporate development positions at ASX-listed MYOB Limited and Village Roadshow Limited, and advisory positions at Merrill Lynch and KPMG. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University.

Gail Hambly

Director

Gail joined the Board in 2019 and brings with her strong legal and governance expertise through deep professional experience, together with a great understanding of digital business. Gail has over 25 years’ experience as a senior executive. From 1992 to 2019 she was Group General Counsel and Company Secretary of Fairfax Media Limited, with responsibility for legal services, government and corporate relations, ASX compliance, internal audit and risk. She was also deeply involved in the growth and development of Fairfax Digital businesses including Domain, Stan Entertainment and its digital businesses. Gail holds current Directorship roles as Chair of Cranlana Centre for Ethical Leadership and of St Vincent’s Clinic, and is a Director at The Story Factory. Gail has degrees in Law and Arts from The University of New South Wales, degrees in Economics and Science from The University of Sydney. A Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

ANA WIGHT

CEO

Ana joined Vend in 2017, and is responsible for developing and translating strategy into actionable plans in a variety of settings. With over 12 years’ experience across strategy and operations, Ana began her career in Group Strategy at Spark, before moving to London and leading market strategy for Microsoft’s Consumer & Online division in the UK. In her last role at McKinsey & Company, Ana led multi-million dollar transformations for a variety of international clients. Before moving back to New Zealand, Ana spent a year cycling across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, which combined her love of travel with her love of good food!

GRAEME STEWART

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Graeme joined Vend in 2017 and is responsible for the financial operations of the group. Graeme has over 15 years experience leading finance teams in the telco and technology industries in both NZ and the UK. Prior to joining Vend, Graeme was Head of Finance Operations at Vodafone NZ for 4 years. He’s also held finance management, commercial and business partnering roles at TelstraClear, and in the UK with KCOM. He lives with his family in Auckland, where his spare time is spent exhausting himself and/or his family in a variety of outdoor athletic pursuits.

SHIRVANI MUDALY

Chief People Officer

Shirvani leads both our IT team and our People and Culture team, making sure everything’s running smoothly and we continue to attract, engage and retain amazing people! Shirvani and her team are committed to developing leadership capability, driving engagement and ensuring Vend continues to be an amazing place to work. Joining Vend in 2018, Shirvani has a wealth of HR experience gained from previous roles at Logical CSI (IBM), Bank of New Zealand, and more recently as Chief People Officer at Yellow. Shirvani has a significant background in change management and culture transformation. Shirvani and her husband are proud parents of two incredible girls and dedicate all their spare time to them. A die hard All Blacks supporter, on game day Shirvani can be heard shouting support at the television!
